Every project starts with a real problem: a small space, a missing storage corner, an independent structure that needs to move. We begin there.

2. Design...

We shape each answer to it's useful and good to look at, and we keep it compact, with nothing wasted.

3. Build...

We make it ourselves in wood and metal, using local materials wherever we can.

Where We're Heading

BlackSteelStudio is growing into a research and design studio. We study how things have been made, especially in African craft traditions, and use what we learn to design better pieces. Today we build. Over time, we aim to share and develop our best designs further.
